Waitlist Notice

This notice covers one thing: the email address you give this website to join the waitlist. It is short because what happens is short.

What is collected

• The email address you type into the form.
• What you teach, if you chose a discipline from the dropdown. This is optional and blank is a valid answer.
• Which part of the page the form was submitted from, so we can tell whether people sign up before or after reading. This is a short label like "hero", not a profile of you.
• The date and time you joined, which is what fixes your place in the queue.

For abuse prevention, the service also temporarily stores a hash derived from your network address and the current minute, plus a request count. These records expire after two minutes and are cleared during subsequent signup requests. There is no tracking pixel, no advertising network, no analytics script, and no advertising cookies in the website code. A private preview may use hosting-provider authentication cookies. Nothing is set in your browser that follows you anywhere.

Why

To send you one email when the app opens, and to be able to tell you your place if you ask. Your address is not sold, rented, shared with advertisers, or added to any other mailing list. There is no newsletter to be subscribed to by accident.

Where it is kept

In a database managed for The Class Edit by our hosting provider, Cloudflare. It is stored separately from any app account: joining the waitlist does not create an account, does not give anyone a way to sign in as you, and cannot become a login.

How long

Until the app opens and the launch email has gone out, and then no longer than is needed to finish that job. If you ask for it sooner, it is deleted when you ask.

Deleting it

Email the.class.edit.app@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and ask to be removed. No form, no account, no reason required. You will get one confirmation and nothing after it.

The app itself

This notice is about the website only. the class edit as an app has its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which cover class plans, photographs used for reading a page, and accounts. Both are shown in full inside the app before you use it, and you can read them again at any time from the profile screen.
